Although Spring does not officially begin until March 20th this year, I definitely feel spring is in the air.  Though that air is still cold and my crocuses are buried under the snow, the weather is warming and the snow is melting.  The normal winter doldrums were this year amplified by the COVID restrictions, so I get the sense that people are at their bursting point of getting back to life.
Our Rotary club is no different.  Although we have done a pretty good job of keeping it together, I feel the last few months have been akin to treading water.  With the continued rollout of the vaccine and hospitalizations decreasing, it appears that the light at the end of the tunnel is edging closer.

I am hopeful we can get back to in-person meetings in April or May in the hybrid format we employed last Fall at Cherry Valley (outside on patio with heat lamps). Those that are still not comfortable meeting in-person will still be able to connect via Zoom.

So how can you as a Rotarian “spring” the club forward?
  • Show up to meetings!  (for now, via Zoom and then later in-person when possible)
  • Pay your dues in a timely manner (don’t make Lisa chase after you).
  • Volunteer for projects like our build day with Habitat For Humanity.
  • Suggest a service project.
  • Sell some 50/50 tickets.
  • Let President-Elect Andy know you are interested in serving on the Board next year.
  • Get involved in the Flags For Heroes project.
  • Start working on recruiting a friend or two.
While we are limited to what we can do currently, we can start laying the groundwork for great things to come.   And you don’t have to wait for spring to be official to spring forward!

Rotarically Yours,
Zoltan Nagy
